Hi again,
Here some news again from me.
The tournament seems already far away. The stadium looks like before (after two weeks ard work) and all my colleagues are away, enjoying their vacation and new jobs.
What happened in the last days of the tournament? After our last match in HAlmstad (and our looonnnng debrief) I went in the morning direct to Malmö. Here I had to help until the final, and here they had a matchday direct the day after our MD. So I ended up working with the final in Malmö, which was also a great experience (and for sure that people called you there because they needed my help!). During the final I worked with the ceremonies and during the Cup ceremony I was coaching the speaker! What a great Final was it! And of course, don't forget the final party for the staff ...
But why is this mail called Lappland? Because I was there, enjoying a short vacation. Climbing the highest mountain from Sweden (which is not that high, but still heavy and it always depends from where you are coming). This climing came together with camping, great landscape and being outside. Again a great outdoor experience!
By nighttrain from Stockholm it is 15 hours up to Kiruna. Than 1 more our by bus and you are in the nature. To foot of the mountain range it is 19 km walk. Which is just one day, but not when you have really bad weather and heavy rain ;-(. That ment even waiting one day in the tent for the climb up to the top! But the great weather and experience the day after made it everything ok again. And don't forget: that much up in the north, above the north circle, you have midnight sun at that time! So going up 3 am in the morning and starting to climb 1 hour later was no problem. 12 hours total the quiet heavy climb costed, ut it was worth. The top is just like 50cm wide and on both sides it's just going down! Great experience to stand up there.
Back to Stockholm by plane, the fastest way.
And now? What are the next steps? In two days I will go to Holland to visit some friends and enjoy some days party during the 4Daagse!
In august I will be in Berlin, working during the World Championships Atletics. And direct after I'm flying to Helsinki for the WOMAN EURO, but this time just as supporter and to visit some friends working with this event.

Hoi Juliane,
Lijkt me een leuke overgang, van de onherbergzaamheid van Lapland naar het 4-Daagse-reservaat in Nijmegen. Ben zelf een weekje terug van de Universiade in Belgrado. Was ook weer geweldig. Misschien zien we elkaar van de week!?
